Every woman young and seasoned should include breast thermography as part of her regular breast health care. Breast thermography is a non-invasive, radiation free, compression free test of physiology. It is a valuable procedure for alerting your doctor to changes that can indicate early stage breast disease.
Medical thermography, also known as digital thermography, uses a special infrared camera to detect skin temperature from the human body. Thermography can detect the subtle physiologic changes that accompany breast pathology, whether it is fibrocystic disease, vascular disease, cancer, or an infection from your mouth invading your breast. When used adjunctively with other procedures the best possible evaluation of breast health is made.
After following specific protocols and taking the images, a certified interpreter reviews the scan by plotting skin surface temperature measurements. A report will be forwarded to you after the interpretation.
Medical Thermography is FDA-cleared for the following indications:
breast cancer screening*
thyroid pathology*
cerebrovascular screening*
peripheral vascular disorders*
neuromuscular conditions*
*Adjunctive use only. To be used with other standard tests.Request appointment today

Who does this screening benefit?
Anyone with a body! But mostly women choose breast thermography screening. It is especially appropriate for younger women (30 – 50) whose dense breast tissue makes it more difficult for mammography to be effective. Also for women of all ages who, for many reasons, are unable to undergo routine mammography or want extra information to make their health care decisions.
This test can provide a ‘clinical marker’ to the doctor or mammographer that a specific area of the breast needs particularly close examination.
It takes years for a tumor to grow thus the earliest possible indication of abnormality is needed to allow for the earliest possible treatment and intervention. Thermography’s role in monitoring breast health is to help in early detection and monitoring of abnormal physiology. When used as a part of a multimodal approach, 95% of early-stage cancers will be detected.
